2010 Interactive Advisory Board

We’re excited to welcome our 2010 Interactive Advisory Board to The Circus on Friday, July 30, 2010. We’re approaching the one-year anniversary of our interactive development program and we are looking forward to this meeting with some of the best from the field. Below are the bios of each of the board members.

Mike Geiger
Chief Digital Officer, Associate Partner
Goodby, Silverstein & Partners

For more than 12 years Mike has been leading multidisciplinary teams in strategy, branding, production and development of cutting-edge new media and advertising content for clients including HP, Adobe, Comcast, Sprint, Got Milk?, Gucci and the NBA.
In 2003 he started the Interactive Production Department at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners and in 2008 became the agency’s first Chief Digital Officer. Next to still overseeing the production of all interactive and emerging technology projects, he is also in charge of improving and expanding and fully integrating the agency’s digital offerings.

One Show Interactive, Cannes Cyber Lions, Clios, The Art Directors Club, D&AD and FlashForward.

In addition, he is frequent juror in award shows such as the New York Festivals, the Webbys, the One Show Interactive, the Clios, the London International Advertising Awards and the Seattle Show. Originally from Munich, Germany Mike now lives in San Francisco.

Barbara Tejada
East Coast Recruiter

Barbara brings more than six years of industry experience from Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Saatchi and Saatchi, EVB and AKQA with degrees in art direction and copywriting from the Miami Ad School and Graphic Design from Carnegie Mellon University. While at CPB, Barbara contributed to the development and expansion of its interactive department from five to over 200 employees. Barbara also helped to build the team that led the agency to secure their first Interactive Agency of the Year award at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.Barbara currently lives in NYC, spends lots of time in DC and has been known to give job hunting advice on twitter @btejada.

Gabe Garner
Firstborn NYC
Digital Production Director

As Digital Production Director, Gabe Garner brings a dozen years of experience to his role at Firstborn. Starting out as a developer, Gabe has worked in various roles in some of the industry’s most high profile agencies, including Hillman Curtis Inc. and Attik. Gabe is currently enjoying his second run at Firstborn, returning to the agency in a senior capacity following a previous stint as a flash developer 4 years ago. His responsibilities focus on directing opportunities specific to the digital space, leveraging his technical history to translate client’s business goals into digital experiences that resonate with their audiences. He also cooks a mean quiche.

Mark Laughlin
Digital Creative Director
Publicis, NYC

Creative Director. New York. Former ADC Young Gun, fairly tall, preference for black t-shirts. Once ran a small shop called LaughlinDyer. Previously spent a good deal of time leading teams at agencies like Huge, Razorfish, and Syrup. Passion for idea-driven interactive experiences and currently Digital Creative Director at Publicis New York.

Matthew Ray
Creative Technology Director
Crispin Porter + Bogusky

Mathew is a Technical Director at CP+B, most recently leading technical efforts for the Microsoft Windows, Windows Phone, and Coke Zero accounts on notable campaigns such as Windows 7 and I’m A PC. Previously at CP+B, he directed acclaimed projects for Volkswagen and Dominos including, What the People Want, and the BFD Pizza Builder. In a previous life, Mathew served as Director of Research and Development for IQ Interactive in Atlanta and helped build a large interactive team while producing award-winning work for Audi, IBM, the National Geographic Channel, Royal Caribbean, and UPS.

Although originally studying Computer Science at Georgia Tech, Mathew decided to switch gears and follow more creative endeavors with a BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design and still enjoys breaking out the sketchbook when not nerding-out.

CP+B is a full-service integrated advertising agency with clients including American Express, BestBuy, Burger King, Coke Zero, Cuervo, Dominos, Gap, Microsoft, Old Navy and Vitamin Water. The agency and its work has been profiled in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Business Week, Forbes, Fast Company, Time, Newsweek, Business 2.0, Advertising Age, Creativity and Archive. The agency currently has over $1 billion dollars in billings, with offices in Miami, Boulder, Toronto, Los Angeles, Göteborg Sweden and London.

      Thanks Katy! We had a really great session last Friday, and the students came up with some great questions for each of them during the panel presentation/Q&A.
